Awkwafina

Awkwafina, an American actor and singer, began with humorous rap tracks dealing with issues related to sexuality and race. Her fame grew into Hollywood after she released an album of raps. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her very first musical encounter. She performed on the trumpet. Additionally, she was given the classical and jazz education later delving into hip-hop as a teenager. While in college, she took classes in journalism and women's studies. In addition, she spent an hour studying Mandarin during her time in Beijing. She didn't start focusing on music until after she graduated. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success through the Internet before settling on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. It also included viral hits including body positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$. The latter track connected directly into another venture Awkwafina's NYC a travel guide published in 2015. After a successful career as a musician and songwriter, she decided to take on the role of an actor. Aside from early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she's also appeared in films like Neighbors2Storks as well as Bad Rap. Her breakthrough came in the year 2018, with several movies that were highly regarded, such as Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP In Fina We Trust.
