AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She also captains San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest level of women's soccer in United States. From 2018 to 2020, she was co-captained by the American women's national soccer team alongside Megan Rapinoe. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. She made her professional debut at the club , and also helped the team win their league championship. Morgan was just 22 when she was selected to be part of the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 which they won in second place. At the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final match against Canada. She was second in the United States with 21 assists and 20 goals in 2012. This made her the youngest and sixth-highest scoring player in the country to score 20 goals in a single year. She was then awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and 2019. She was named to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
